This Boulder Opal pendant is made from Pipe Opal.
Pipe opal is formed by opal occurring in sandstone rather than ironstone boulders.
It formed millions of years ago when organic matter, such as twigs and leaves, disintegrated leaving cavity’s that the liquid opal filled.
This opal pendant has the tan sandstone impregnated with shimmery bright aqua colors ,with a touch of mauve opal in the top of the pendant.
The opal colors are highlighted by natural slashes of contrasting black manganese running through the pendant.
The opal colors are visible through to both sides of the pendant.
The pendant sparkles and shimmers as the opal catches the light.
